A local favourite for coffee, breakfast, and pastries, with a lovely shop full of artisan goods. Every Wednesday evening (5:30–7:30 pm,) they host Pizza Night, a relaxed mid-week treat for visitors and locals alike.
Full of old-world charm, this is a classic Irish pub and restaurant with hearty, well-cooked food. You might spot lobster on the menu when available, and there’s a subtle German influence in some dishes. The house Riesling is excellent, and locals say they pour the best pint of Guinness in Roundwood. Open Friday to Tuesday.
A much-loved wood-fired pizza spot, run by a French pâtissier. Open Thursday to Sunday from 4pm, offering fresh, flavourful takeaway pizzas ideal for an evening at the cottage.

A lively pub in the heart of Laragh — perfect for a pint and hearty food after exploring Glendalough. Great atmosphere and warm service all year round.
Located within Avoca Kilmacanogue, this café is loved for breakfast and lunch served with generous portions. Enjoy browsing the food market, garden centre, and boutique before or after your meal. Their in-house wine selection is ideal for a bottle to bring back to the cottage.
Set within the beautiful Powerscourt Gardens, Avoca’s café offers panoramic views and excellent food. For something special, visit The Sally Gap Bar & Brasserie in the nearby Powerscourt Hotel — a refined setting for evening dining.
