Tucked high in the Wicklow Mountains, Cullen’s Cottages is your luxurious base for fresh air adventures and cosy evenings by the fire. Hike ancient valleys, bike forest trails, or dip into Dublin for a day, the city is an easy journey away, yet the cottage feels a world apart.

What began as a ten-year labour of love, restoring a small cluster of old buildings into a graceful homestead, is now a warm and stylish retreat hosted by Ciara and Eamonn Cullen. Passionate about healthy food and fresh water, they love to share their organic produce and wholesome way of life with guests, inviting you to experience the best of Roundwood’s wild, nourishing surroundings.

Hiking and Nature

From the monastic valley of Glendalough and its celebrated Spink trail to Djouce, Maulin and the iconic Sugarloaf, there is a walk for every mood and ability. Try the Powerscourt Waterfall loop for a scenic moderate day out.

Roundwood itself sits among Ireland’s highest villages at the edge of the National Park. It is a superb launchpad for lakes, forests and wildlife.

Take the legendary Sally Gap for dark mirror lakes, heathered bogs and wide open Wicklow views. Stop at the Lough Tay viewpoint on the R759 for one of Ireland’s most iconic outlooks.

Stroll to The Coach House for seasonal plates or settle into the characterful Roundwood Inn, famous for its pint of Guinness and hearty food. For daytime treats Roundwood Stores does excellent coffee and a midweek pizza night. The Heather in Laragh is a reliable favourite for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
